Despite cinematic discord, Sally Wu’s art + craft/act 1 line debuted on Wednesday night at the Chamber’s Fine Art gallery in the meat packing district, followed by a delicious after party at the extravagant Spice Market. The clothes were a New York woman’s dream: versatile basics treated with luxe details made for perfect work-to-nightlife options while statement pieces like thick hand-knitted jackets with shoots of tulle showed off the true craft of the designer’s vision. Kimono sleeves, hoods, and harem pants kept the spectrum diverse yet disciplined.
