I had an incredible birthday weekend, from DJing at Mehanata to belly dancers in my bedroom. The highlight was Lasha Nazira dancing to Maar Dala—so surreal. Then, Falucka for a free for all amidst the Arabic cabaret dancing and rose-mint aroma.
The food, the music, the festivity—even now I am grinning remembering it. It ended with a run-in with the cops (that’s what happens when you get 15 people playing music on the street at 4AM), but no one got arrested and it was a happy ending. My friend Bobby came back to our place and serenaded us with his bouzouki until the sun came up.
Love my friends & family! I’m going to make this an amazing year.
