WGACA Runway Video & Fashion’s Night Out
Here’s a quick video I snapped of the WGACA spring 2012 show yesterday at the Soho Grand Hotel. The spring styling was full of sheers, shirts buttoned up to the neckline, scarves, ponchos, and flowing resort-inspired looks with the classic vintage charm their shows embody. Bright colors, mixed textures, and quintessential “pretty” fashion are always ok in my book.

Tonight is the epic, much anticipated Fashion’s Night Out. #FNO hashtags will be crashing the twitter server, and I’ll be taking hem measurements for free hem-job (wowza) with purchase at 7 For All Mankind on Bleecker street. Come get drunk on champagne and let’s talk about how much we love jeans!

Our team will also be at the Flat Iron & SoHo locations… check it. When champagne is free, there is no excuse not to show up.
Yesterday was half-fashion, half-gourmet. I stopped at a great bakery on West Houston to do some photo editing & blogging before meeting Raffa and his friend Cristhian (fellow Arequipian) for dinner. Mango sticky rice = ♡

Mmm.
Nicholas K was this morning, and the runway show is now up for review on the site. They streamed it live while the show was happening, which really makes you wonder why you need to get up at 9AM and shove through glamorous crowds when you can sit in your underwear with a cup of coffee and watch it in the kitchen. Alas.
The show opened with a beautiful spectrum of neutrals and whites that gradually shifted to dark olive tones and a peach/grey combo that I loved. As ever, NK is all about what we’re going to wear after the world ends, with a futuristic approach to shape and function (without being corny).
