Dreamy Knitwear & Winter Links

December 22, 2011

I fell hard for this knitwear x denim editorial in Vogue Paris November, featuring the unrivaled Sasha Pivovarova and (a slightly less stellar) Natasha Poly (sorry ya’ll, she just doesn’t have presence in this ed). Colorful knits in Nordic and various tribal patterns are probably the most sought-after item for fall/winter this year, and it’s nice to see high fashion taking a more amused direction.

Winter Links

→ I already knew Jane Aldridge was a doll, but this drives the point home (and it makes me want peppermint sticks x hot cocoa). Well played plaid, ladybird.

→ If you’re still wondering what to wear to an upcoming holiday shindig, check out these 9 pairs of amazing jeans to party in.

→  Here are some snazzy holiday cocktail recipes with high alcohol content (you can always count on R29 to assist you in making your life a little more stylish and a little more saucy).

→  Make a holiday banner to hang up in your favorite room! And don’t think it’s too late to start Xmas crafting—there are 12 days of Xmas!

→  All I want for Christmas is for my bebe to wear these jeweled slippers around the house so he will look like a festive metro-sexual elf.

→  A beautiful, wintry lookbook for Odélie Chan‘s FW 2011 (there’a a video to watch too).

→  Abbey Lee Kershaw dressed like the empress of some mystical icy land. Epic NYE dress, no?

→  A very clever rubber stamp crafting technique to jazz up your gifts this year. I just bought a bunch of new acrylic paint but I never thought to use it on stamps… hmmmm!

→  Peek into incredible miniature worlds where tragedy, cruelty, and unsettling situations are somehow delightful to view thanks to the concept of scale (and snow).

→  Wearing gift bows in your hair? I vote yes.

→  The prettiest paper tree you will ever see.

→  How to make a snow globe out of a clear bottle (much cooler than a snow globe, actually).

→  Finally, here are some ideas for last second holiday gifts… for yourself! Time management books!

In other news, if you’re in NYC, tonight at Mehanata is the Burdel Dali Xmas party (our new promo video is out if you subscribe to psycho-festive trans-global dance parties and “Red hot pants, jingle bells, rakia shots & antlers!!”). This flashback to last year’s party makes me smile every time I see it. Full party info here.

If I were to give you a pop culture example of what our parties are like, this is about the closest I have ever seen:

Stay tuned…
