! Hey Мишка (About)
Mishka = MCL = Michelle Christina Larsen
It’s a nickname my Russian friends gave me. It means little bear. This blog documents my personal projects, work, crazy Eastern European parties, and an overall scope of fashion and festivity.

New York native, Greenpoint Brooklyn roots, F.I.T. Fashion Design BFA Alumni (also studied visual communications at SUNY Orange for 2 years), currently the editorial director of Denim Therapy’s blog, contributor and guest-editor at Refinery29, freelance copywriter and stylist (sometimes-assistant to the amazing Emilee Fallo). I studied fashion design and have been making clothes since I was a tot.
I sell vintage on Etsy as a hobby–check out Hey Mishka Vintage. I also empty lots of DIY materials and fabric into my other Etsy shop, Horrorvacuii. I plan to close the DIY shop soon in an effort to streamline my …effort. So shop while you can!
Other things about me!
I’ve been the assistant director of Fusion Fashion Show for five years, I’ve contributed to N.E.E.T. Magazine and was featured in their first-ever print edition book, I’m a former D.I.Y. designer at the currently on-hiatus New York Design Shop, I’m the founder of bohemian style blog Shangri-NEON, and an affectionate ex-intern of Milly and Act 1 by Sally Wu.
I live in Brooklyn with the love of my life and a beautiful Rajasthan puppet named Raj. I host an off-the-rails trans-global enthno-Balkan dance party, coined Burdel Dali Presents, every Thursday night in the Lower East Side of Manhattan (at Mehanata).
My favorite genres of music are cumbia, bhangra, and chalga.
I pass my time editing videos, blogging, reading self-help books and re-arranging rooms. I’m a music-loving, lusting-over-life kind of a nerd, addicted to inspiration-scavenging and Bejeweled. I’m a Libra from through and through, always ready to collaborate and decorate, in love with bohemian-meets-contemporary style. I take an average of 30,000 photos per year and love documenting my trials and errors.
You can see more of what I do at my styling portfolio and my editorial portfolio.
