NYFW Photo Dairy: Milly Fall 2009 Collection + Behind The Scenes
So the climactic week-and-some-days celebration of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is approaching completion. For me, the most thrilling moments were at the Milly show, which I’ve been working on as a design intern at the studio.
Preparation at Milly was busy but never frantic thanks to a team who have it down to a science. Beholding the work of the stylist, Aleksandra Woroniecka, really made me understand the way a vision-made-tangible can be worked into a series of fashion-forward equations that looks fierce as hell on the runway.
Peep everything from behind the scenes at the studio to the runway show and after party below!
The accessories for the show: hats by Lola, cable tights by Wolford, and shoes by Manolo Blahnik.
Almost showtime! Getting excited inside the Promenade…

The collection! My shots of the show came out subpar, but you can view the collection in all of its glory here. The inspiration was a modern day metropolitan “gallerina”.
The highlight of the night for me was when head designer Michelle Smith came out on the runway to wave, wearing a dress I helped design! I created the embellishment motif at the top of the bodice. Cue fashion student heart attack of happiness!

On my way out I came across Taylor Momsen heading into Anna Sui. I love her ballgown and cropped leather jacket combo.
Back in the studio, the interns celebrated a successful show!
Naturally, an after party followed…!
Bijoux!
After the show, I danced around the apartment in my Milly dresses and ate Valentine’s Day candy.
Until the next fashion adventure…
