Well, NYFW has finally wrapped! I’m finally getting around to posting my favorite shots of the shows. I’ll start with ideeën.
My first defining brush with the label was that completely viral shredded black dress OAK was selling. What I saw on the runway was decidedly less about sex appeal and more about story telling.
The designers channeled the “legendary tenacity of the African Spirit” and female fertility, across various landscapes with a mixture of sheers and opaques, draped silhouettes accented with crushed handfuls of Swarvoski and rows of studs. It was fierce but feminine–the models were like elegant everyday-warriors.
