When the fashion industry comes together for a good cause, it makes the buzz of new releases even more exciting. I kicked off New York Fashion Week at the Sarah Boyd x Capwell + Co. jewelry preview Wednesday evening with my partners in crime Raffa and Aparna. Proceeds from sales went to The Farley Project: an organization dedicated to ending bullying and spreading love.
Aside from beautiful jewelry and copious cheese platters (don’t you love snacks at fashion events?), there was a table full of blank cards. They were intended for writing compliments and pick-me-ups and handing them to other attendees. You could also take some with you to hand to total strangers. How sweet is that?
After chatting with designer Sarah Boyd, founder of Simply Stylist, she revealed that she was inspired by the brilliant emerald and cerulean blue hues she used in her designs.
Shop the collection, and you’ll be doing something good for your jewelry collection and victims of bullying. How can you argue with that?
I spy a Raffa in the midst of the jewels…
After the party we stopped by one of our favorite Peruvian bars, Panca, for some scrumptious anticuchos and pisco sours. It was a great night to kick off the fashion season!
As usual, once the madness begins I barely have time to upload photos from my camera, but I’ll be back tomorrow with more.
