Is it just me, or is it kind of perfect when Halloween falls on a random weekday? That gives you actual Halloween and a weekend before—or after—for extended costume & candy festivities!
Am I actually just an overgrown child? Yes, when it comes to holidays, I am. And nothing brings out my inner dork like Halloween.
This year I decided to host a chill pregame get-together for Halloweekend, gathering some friends up for drinks and costumed foolishness before we headed to the Queens Brewery for additional foolishness.
With just a few touches, I created a spooky spread for snacks, drinks, and creeping it real (sorry not sorry). Here’s a closer look!
What are the ingredients of a pre-game Halloween house party, you ask?
The table was the centerpiece of the evening (other than costumes—I love dressing up!). You’ll notice a few repurposed pieces of decor from my birthday party, like the table runner and the glass pineapple. I try to re-use certain things throughout the season and then swap them out for other focal points.
As long as you stick to fall hues and some metallic accents, it’ll all come together.
The girls! We didn’t plan a black-and-white color scheme, it just kind of happened…
And yes, I dressed up as a cheesy French maid! I don’t want to progress any further in my life without having checked this ridiculous costume off my list.
With snacks, drinks, and music… it all just kind of came together!
And what’s a Halloween shindig without a little impromptu dance party action?
After a few hours of revelry at home, we headed out into the night. I was glad this little last-minute shindig served as a precursor to a fun Halloween weekend. Here’s an obligatory back-of-taxi shot!
