What better way to say “I love you” than with a warm-and-fuzzy cocktail you made yourself? 🍸❤️
Erin—a.k.a. the bartender of my heart—stopped by the other day with a tote bag of booze and fancy drink utensils to whip some up. She created three delicious libations to serve to friends and lovers on the most commercially romantic day of the year. 😉
The afternoon was an ode to the cocktail we mixed up for a v-day blog post many years ago! If you remember that, you’re a true Hey Mishka OG.
The cocktails range from mild to strong in intensity, but all are pretty simple to whip up with ingredients you won’t have trouble finding. Oh, and they’re really pretty.
After drinking copious cocktails in order to film this video (I know, I know, occupational hazards), things got pretty warm-and-fuzzy. Mentally, anyway!
Whether you’re having a party with the girls or planning a special night with your s.o., these DIY valentine’s day cocktail recipes will add a whole new level of deliciousness to the mix.
Don’t forget to ask for a tip. 💋
After you watch the video, grab the full recipes below. Bottoms up!
DIY Valentine’s Day Cocktail #1: Framboise Royale
Planning a v-day brunch with friends? Serve this up as an alternative to mimosas. It has a dreamy pink hue and goes surprisingly well with savory snacks.
Glassware: Champagne flute
- ½ oz Creme de Framboise (Raspberry liqueur, available at liquor stores that sell fancy extras)
- Prosecco of your choice to fill your glass (we recommend a dry or extra-dry)
Pour ½ oz of Creme de Framboise into a champagne flute, top with prosecco to fill glass. That’s it! As an optional garnish, rim the glass with pink sugar and drop frozen raspberries in the glass to chill.
DIY Valentine’s Day Cocktail #2: N.B.A “No Boys Allowed”
Erin has dubbed this the ultimate “giggle juice” since it’s basically ultra sweet bubbly with fruit on top. Also known as… heaven? It’s perfect for a girls night in and you can make it in a giant punch bowl.
Punch glasses/cups/tea cups
Ingredients for a punch bowl:
- 6 cups pink lemonade
- 1 cup Vodka
- 1 bottle prosecco
Ingredient for 1 glass:
- 2oz vodka
- 2oz lemonade
Optional garnish: Lemon/lime wheels, strawberry sliced into hearts, and heart-shaped ice cubes.
Mix ingredients in a punchbowl (or a glass, depending) add some ice, taste. Taste again! Taste, just one more time…
For a single glass, mix vodka and cold pink lemonade. Top with prosecco. Garnish with fruits, and then top with more lemonade!
DIY Valentine’s Day Cocktail #3: Chocolate Kisses
This sweet and strong cocktail—Erin’s take on a Manhattan—is good for a cozy night in with bae. You might even skip the Netflix and go right to the chill, if ya know what I mean! *eyebrow waggle*
Glassware: Coupe, cocktail or martini glass
- 2 oz Bourbon
- ¾ oz Sweet vermouth
- 4 dashes chocolate bitters
- Brandied Cherry (or maraschino if that’s more your vibe)
Mix ingredients in cocktail shaker over ice. Strain and pour into cocktail glass, add a brandied cherry, serve! As an optional garnish, skewer or set some Valentine’s day chocolates to decorate with and snack on as you sip.
We hope you enjoyed this little v-day cocktail tutorial! Always drink responsibly.
I love you all.
